What I want to do:

I would like to create two brand new stunning paintings, at the perfect size that combined with my art work, will have wall power.  I will unveil and show case these two new art pieces in group art exhibitions at the end of the year.  My art work is very intricate, involves a lot of meticulous brush work and hand control combined with the creative thought process, which takes a lot of love and time.  To create these paintings will require careful planning and a lot of professional quality art supplies. The money will assist me greatly to get the project going and to complete them to the highest standard.

About Me

London  born Daisuke Sakaguchi showcases his underlying and inimitable aesthetic, expressing his love for art, creative design, the culture that comes with it and the fusion of his Asian and British heritage. His art work is all free hand painted and no stencils are used and not computer generated.

Daisuke's creations are inspired by his passion for "Ukiyo-e" - pictures of the floating world - (a genre of Japanese woodblock prints) and "Irezumi" (traditional Japanese tattoos). Daisuke’s art work are his very own modern interpretation of this classical art form as a mural of storytelling, featuring motifs, landscapes, tales from history, theatrical creatures, fleeting beauty and a realm of entertainment combined with traditional positive iconography.

Daisuke has exhibited his work at Sotheby's London Gallery, Colette in Paris, Comme des Garcons' Dover Street Market,  Tokyo Fashion Week and has had his work auctioned at the National Portrait Gallery.

Daisuke produces his unique art works by painting on to three dimensional objects and giving them a new life, along with applying his signature style on to classic stretched canvases.

He created the hand painted Giant “Mirai” Egg for the 2012 Fabergé Big Egg Exhibition and the hand painted “Tomodachi” Phone Booth for the 2012 BT ArtBox Exhibition that was auctioned at The National Portrait Gallery by Sotheby’s. One of Daisuke’s latest creations is the hand painted and positively transformed 1940’s authentic British Military deactivated test bomb. This bomb has had a beautiful make over and been given a new life and symbol to subvert the meaning of war to become the “Love Bomb”.

Daisuke has recently exhibited his latest “Inazuma” Tiger painting at the Hotel Café Royal in a group show curated by Christian Furr, which was then auctioned at a gala event at the Savoy London. His latest show was at The Redfern Gallery, Mayfair, London, for Asian Art Week 2015.

Daisuke’s past jewellery creations have been worn by Rihanna, Linda Evangelista, Elton John, David Furnish, Kelly Osbourne, and the Beckhams, along with producing exclusive murals for David Coulthard, Microsoft and the London Motor Show.
